Unfortunately for Northwood, one or two defenders didn’t realise last Saturday’s game at home to Tooting & Mitcham had started, and they found themselves two down within three minutes.
There were only 45 seconds on the clock when a cross from the left caught out three defenders, and left Luke Wanabio with an easy chance. Two minutes later another poor defensive decision left Tre Thomas with acres of space to fire home.
The Woods then began to get into the game, and had a couple of half-chances to reduced the arrears, Max Moore hitting the woodwork with a fine header.
Lorenzo Ferrari gave the Tooting defence a torrid time all afternoon with his pace and trickery, but no result came from his good work.
The second half saw a great effort by the Woods to get back into the game and they twice hit the post before Eugene Asanti scored from close range in the 90th minute, but it was all too late for Northwood to get a point they deserved.
Man of the Match: Lorenzo Ferrari.
